Patrick “Pat” Geraghty is chief executive officer (CEO) of GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation, Florida Blue and GuideWell Group, Inc. GuideWell is a mutual insurance holding company and is a family of forward-thinking companies focused on transforming health care. The holding company includes Florida Blue, GuideWell Connect, GuideWell Health, GuideWell Source and PopHealthCare.
Geraghty holds a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and has participated in executive education programs at Harvard University School of Public Health and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
René Lerer, M.D.

Dr. Lerer holds a bachelor’s degree in psychobiology from Oberlin College and a doctor of medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is board-certified in internal medicine.
Chief Financial Officer
Chuck Divita is the chief financial officer and has overall responsibility for the financial areas of the company including: accounting, actuarial, underwriting, corporate tax, corporate planning, procurement, mergers and acquisitions, treasury and the investment operations.
Divita holds Bachelors of Science degrees in both Finance and Accounting from Florida State University and is a certified public accountant. He is also a member of Florida Institute of CPAs.
Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary
Charlie Joseph is general counsel and corporate secretary. Joseph is accountable for leading the company’s corporate affairs group, which includes: Legal Affairs, Business Assurance, Business Ethics, Integrity and Compliance, Public Policy and Community Engagement, and Board Governance. He also serves as the senior legal advisor to management and the Board of Directors on a wide range of matters.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hamilton College and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a member of the Bars of the State of New York and the District of Columbia, and is certified as Authorized House Counsel under Chapter 17, Rules Regulating the Florida Bar.
Prakash Patel, M.D.
Chief Operating Officer, GuideWell Mutual Holding Corporation; President, GuideWell Health
In his role as COO of GuideWell, Prakash Patel, M.D., oversees provider network management, medical operations, analytics and service, with a focus on enhancing customer and provider experience and leveraging data for improved outcomes and more effective medical and administrative cost management. Additionally, Patel leads GuideWell Health, the organization’s health care delivery company. GuideWell Health is transforming health care to create superior outcomes and experiences for patients through delivery system innovation, provider management services and value-based care.
Patel holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a doctor of medicine degree from Cornell University Medical College.
Senior Vice President, Human Services Group and Chief Human Resource Officer
As chief human resource officer, Amy Ruth brings her extensive knowledge of human capital development and talent management to provide executive leadership for the company’s human resources, diversity, corporate services and strategic facilities.
Ruth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Kennesaw State University.
Chief Communications Officer
As chief communications officer, Erin Somers is responsible for strategic communications, including employee, human resource, sales, provider, member and executive communications, as well as social media, media relations and reputation leadership.
A member of the Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association, Somers is the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in communications strategy and tactics, including recognition for her work in crisis communications, branding, institutional programs, internal communications, annual report development and speechwriting.
She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota.
Vice President and Chief of Staff to the Office of the CEO
As vice president and chief of staff to the office of the CEO, Shawn Trotter-Mitchell is responsible for assisting with the CEO’s plan and coordinating the strategic, cross-functional activities of the executive office, including managing executive committee efforts. Trotter-Mitchell ensures that decisions are communicated and that action items are coordinated between the four business units and completed. She also defines issues and decisions that need focus and involvement from the CEO’s office.
Trotter-Mitchell holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Hampton University and Master’s degree in Public Health from Yale University School of Medicine.
