International Partnership Brings CliniSanitas Medical Centers to Tampa

GuideWell and Organización Sanitas Internacional partner to provide affordable, convenient and culturally-relevant health care solutions in Hillsborough County

TAMPA, Fla. – CliniSanitas Medical Centers, an extension of the partnership between Organización Sanitas Internacional (“Sanitas”) and GuideWell Mutual Holding Company (“GuideWell”), announced its expansion into Tampa with a new medical center slated to open in November 2016.

The new CliniSanitas Medical Center is tailored to provide culturally-relevant health care focused on patient convenience and personalized care. The medical center, located at 3617 W. Hillsborough Ave. in The Greenhouse Shops, will address patients’ day-to-day health care in one place with convenient hours and urgent care walk-ins that serve the needs of working families.

Bilingual doctors and staff will provide primary care, select specialty care, comprehensive urgent care, laboratory and diagnostic imaging services as well as educational programs in wellness and disease management.

Hillsborough County saw its Hispanic population grow by more than 50 percent since 2000, according to recent U.S. Census data. The CliniSanitas Medical Centers offer a unique care model to address the linguistic and cultural needs of this community.

“CliniSanitas is a transformative, innovative approach to health care we are expanding into the Tampa to address the needs of a growing diverse city,” said Pat Geraghty, CEO of GuideWell. “These medical centers offer a new way for the community to access and experience convenient, comprehensive, quality and culturally-relevant care.”

CliniSanitas first launched its innovative care model in the United States in Miami last year with three medical centers to serve the needs of a growing diverse community. Tampa will be its first expansion beyond South Florida.

“We created the CliniSanitas medical centers to give patients and their families a whole new perspective on what health care can be: more time with your doctor, convenient hours, a one-stop shop, a proactive approach to health and exceptional service,” Fernando Fonseca, CEO of GuideWell Sanitas. “Since we launched in Miami last year, we received very positive feedback on the quality of care and overall experience at our CliniSanitas medical centers. Our expansion in Tampa will continue to build upon our success in Miami as well as over 40 years of experience providing quality care in South America.”
